Hello there! I am thrilled to share with you my painting, "Stand Tall." It is more than just a painting; it's a celebration of life, growth, and hope. As you gaze upon it, you will feel the gentle pull to stand tall and rise above the challenges of life.
This piece of art was inspired by a majestic tree at Powers Marine Park in Portland, Oregon. I was moved by the way it stood tall and strong, while generously sharing its knowledge with others. I wanted to capture that essence, that magic, and bring it to life on canvas.
In "Stand Tall," you will find the tree as the centerpiece of the painting, reaching its branches toward the sky in a dance of life and growth. Its roots dig deep into the ground, symbolizing the strength and stability that comes from being grounded in one's values and beliefs.
Around the tree, I painted vibrant flowers in full bloom, representing the beauty and wonder of nature's cycle of growth and rebirth. These flowers remind us that life is a continuous journey of transformation and renewal.
The sun shines brightly in the background, casting a warm and hopeful glow over the entire scene. It symbolizes the light of knowledge and the power of positivity that guide us through the darkest of times.
If you are looking for a meaningful and inspiring addition to your home, "Stand Tall" is the perfect choice. It will fill your space with positive energy, reminding you of your own potential for greatness. With this painting, you can own a piece of the beauty and wonder of nature, and keep it close to your heart.

Sometimes, I want encouragement, answers, or just for fun. I pick up a book and open to a random paragraph and read what's there with an open mind. Today was one of those days. I opened "The Secret of The Golden Flower" to page 90 and found that the words spoke to me. I had been thinking that I wanted to solve problems by using more of my metaphysical tools like visualization, Law of Attraction, and the famous reset button. While all these tools are very helpful, they do not bring happiness to me.
The passage I was reading said that it would be a mistake for a Westerner to take up the practice of Chinese Yoga because it would only strengthen that which I am trying to avoid or change. The author mentioned that he often works with this thought - that there are fundamentally no insoluble problems. In his work, he has simply seen people outgrow their problems. Since I turned 80 and liked this idea, I turned up my hearing to learn more. You can do this by reaching a new level of consciousness - a higher or wider introspection on the person's horizon. Then the insoluble problem loses its urgency, not repressed but just fades away as seen in a different light.
Remembering we are human and are both in a problem and above a problem, or both in the valley and on the mountaintop, I talk about all this in my first blog post because it relates to how I create art. I trust and let go and see what comes. I see problems that occur fix themselves as I keep watching the paint, subject, and thoughts come into some kind of reality that absolutely astounds me!
